THE WHAT

As the pressure increases for brick-and-mortar retailers to offer ways for their customers to shop online, it becomes apparent to many that the logistics of switching from purely physical retail to multi-channel sales is a more difficult task than just creating an ecommerce website. This is especially true for companies with complicated supply chains, shipping requirements, and products that require customer education prior to purchase.

Our goal was to create an ecommerce experience for Kirkland’s Flooring that matched the quality of the services they offer, while streamlining a complex ordering and logistics process for their online consumers.

THE HOW

We developed a series of web-based solutions that coupled internal product and segment management with easy-to-navigate site structures that streamlined the customer experience for their online storefront.

In an ongoing partnership, we have developed strategies to help Kirkland's Flooring improve on our baseline site structures and maintain e-commerce best practices as their business and online retail systems continue to grow.

CUSTOM DEVELOPMENT

This project required several components of custom development that needed to be custom-fit to the existing business practices. We created custom pricing calculation modules allowing users to purchase product by calculating the square footage they needed for their home project. Dynamic sample request forms allowed users to request samples of the products they wanted to test, while custom video galleries allowed users to navigate nearly 70 instructional and product inspiration videos. These solutions created a robust, touchless customer education process that, in-turn increased conversion rates.

E-COMMERCE CONSULTING

Our team also focused on ensuring that the internal ecommerce processes were built out in a way that was sustainable moving forward. We offered hands-on training to the Kirkland’s team on making website changes, price alterations, processing orders, integrating with shipping providers, and configuring payment gateways. We audited ecommerce best practices in the industry and created a rollout plan to ensure the ecommerce implementation was consistent or and improvement of the primary competitors, and used advanced keyword analytics to create an experience that was clear and concise for users but offered the best opportunity for organic traffic.
